Keyword Density Checker

Check keyword frequency and density for any page or pasted text, including two and three word phrases.

  • No sign-up required

  • Only the address is sent

Any public page, for example knowledgemarkg.com/pricing

Counts how often each word and phrase appears in a page or in text you paste, and shows the density as a percentage. It looks at one, two and three word phrases, skips filler words like 'the' and 'of', and lets you check a focus keyword on its own. Useful for spotting keyword stuffing, and for checking that the phrase you are targeting actually appears in the copy.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the keyword density checker.

What is a good keyword density?+

Roughly 0.5% to 3% reads naturally. There is no magic number - Google stopped counting repetitions years ago - but above about 3% the text starts to read as stuffed, which does cause problems.

How is density calculated?+

Occurrences multiplied by the number of words in the phrase, divided by the total word count. So a two-word phrase used five times in a 1,000-word page is 1%.

Why are common words missing from the list?+

Words like 'the', 'and' and 'of' are filtered out. They are always the most frequent words in any text and tell you nothing about the topic.

Does keyword density still matter for SEO?+

Not as a target to hit. It is useful as a check in two directions: that your main phrase appears at all, and that you have not repeated it so often the page reads badly.
